Amazon A9 Search Algorithms Changes: What You Need to Know
Amazon is constantly tweaking its search algorithm to favor various factors over others. Here’s what you need to know about the latest changes.
The four core factors remained mostly the same: sales volume, conversion rate, product ratings, and seller reputation. These are all still and will always be very important. But one new change is Amazon’s emphasis on external traffic.
In an effort to present more socially relevant products, as in ones that people share outside of Amazon, Amazon is now favoring products that are able to draw customers in from third party sources.
This makes sense, especially as Amazon has made it easier over the past year to track sales that come from 3rd party sources with the launch of Amazon Attribution. In addition Amazon has be greatly upping their efforts with influencers who they long neglected, and they may be expecting sellers to do the same.
All of this to say it’s just one piece of the puzzle, the core four factors are still the most important, but updates like this give sellers a peak into where Amazon is trying to go, and how to always stay ahead.
