Real Madrid have officially unveiled their home jersey in partnership with Adidas for the next season. Set to mark its 120th anniversary this year, the club invited legends Roberto Carlos, Raul Gonzalez, and Iker Casillas to the photoshoot.
“Off the back of another victorious Real Madrid season, the jersey honours the past whilst celebrating Grandeza, the spirit of greatness that has united the players, fans and club over the past 120 years,” read the joint statement from Adidas and Los Blancos.

The jersey retains the trademark shade of white, albeit with some modern twists. A buttoned-down collar with purple detailing has been added, along with three purple stripes on the shoulders. Further, the club’s crest is engraved inside the collar.
“The club’s rich history is also commemorated with a unique symbol printed inside the neck, as Real Madrid continues to bring impossible moments to life and make history with grandeza.”
Fans can’t help but point out the striking resemblance of their latest kit to a Test cricket jersey. And they do have a point. One fan wrote: “Ferland Mendy, right-arm fast. About to completely transform the Windies fortunes in Test cricket. Also a Real Madrid player”.

Clad in all-white, Karim Benzema looks like more of a fast bowler than a striker. Given the kind of form the Frenchman is in, it shouldn’t come as surprise if he ends up making his Test debut for some county side.

Another user wrote: “After their immense success in football, Real Madrid has announced they’ll be taking part in Test Cricket”. While Real Madrid doesn’t intend to venture into Test cricket, they do share a history with a prominent cricket ground in London, Kennington Oval. Legend has it that the club’s founders once attended Corinthian’s game in the Oval. As a tribute to Corinthian’s fair play and sportsmanship, they decided to adopt their all-whites.
Something about even Real Madrid wearing their Test kit more often than New Zealand or West Indies women, etc https://t.co/3hSeEYLnmr
