It now appears that Cristiano Ronaldo’s romantic return to Manchester United is drawing unexpectedly closer. After putting the entire team, the stadium, the facilities, and even the coach Eric Ten Hag on blast during a recent interview with Piers Morgan, the 37-year-old is now likely to receive a whopping £1million fine from the club.
CR7 expressed his frustration saying he felt betrayed, “Yes, not only the coach but another two or three guys around the club. I felt betrayed. Yes I felt betrayed and I felt like some people don’t want me here, not only this year but last year too” further commenting on his relationship with the manager, saying “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never gonna have respect for you.”

Of course, being Ronaldo, the amount should only be a chunk of change considering he’s rumored to be on a £515,385 per week paycheck. The £1million roughly translates to two weeks’ worth of wages, which is a standard form of punishment around Old Trafford.
What’s surprising though (or not), is that this isn’t the first time the Portuguese captain has been fined for his conduct. Back in October Ronaldo was fined a similar amount after walking out of the tunnel before the final whistle blew off against the Spurs game.
This time around though his displeasure has become more vocal, with the former Real Madrid man complaining about the drop in quality, hours after United’s win against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Ronaldo who missed the match due to an illness has also been absent from the Red Devil’s Carabao cup outing against Aston Villa, last week.
Rumors of the 37-year-old leaving the club have been rampant since the last transfer season, with the multiple Ballon d’Or winner being linked to many clubs, including Sporting Lisbon back in Portugal. As for now, Manchester United is yet to release a statement regarding CR7’s interview. Although, we doubt they’ll have anything nice to say.
