Hey guys, Mark here from ReviverSoft.
Today I’m going to teach you how to add a website as a tile in Start Menu Reviver 2. Now this one of the great features of Start Menu Reviver, something that you’re not traditionally used to having in a previous start menu from Windows 7 or before that. It’s very quick and easy to add a website as a tile.
All you need to do is find an empty tile, right click on it, click Add Tile and then this brings up the tiles property box. It allows you to change a number of different things about a tile. You can write a description for it, you can change the shortcut for it, you can change the color and you can even choose an image to represent that tile.
What I’m going to do is I’m going to create a tile for Twitter. In the shortcut box, just put in the URL that you wish to use, for Twitter, for example, Twitter.com. You can see here it already knows that I’ve entered a website. The icon [inaudible 00:00:52] saying it’s representing a website.
Now what I’m going to do is choose an image for this tile. I click on Change and then you have two options. You can either choose From Library, which is a library of tiles that we have included with Start Menu Reviver. You can scroll down, it’s in alphabetical order which helps. Look for T for Twitter. If I keep going further you see Twitter right there, so I can choose that as my tile. You can see how it’s going to look.
You can also choose to browse with the Explorer window in Windows. I’ve actually downloaded a Twitter icon I found on the internet. I can select that and click open. Then I can use that as my icon for Twitter.
You can also change the background color. Right now it’s set to blue, which I don’t think looks very good, I think it would look better as white. I’ve just changed that to white and I think that looks pretty good. All you need to do now is to save the settings, click on the check icon and then, there you go, you have a icon for Twitter.com.
You can do this for any of your websites you usually use like Facebook, Gmail, Yahoo Mail or Outlook. It’s very quick and easy.
If you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below. I look forward to seeing you in a future video.
Thanks.
