Q
In 5 short years Illamasqua have managed to achieve cult status where it has taken others decades to do so. What do you think has been the key to your success?

A
It’s all about the quality of our products and the service we provide. We don\’t advertise anywhere because our products speak for themselves; high quality, super pigmented but easy to use. Our teams give out first class service, making your trip to Illamasqua a truly memorable one as we add that personal touch. We like to have a laugh with our clients! We listen and cater to their needs as well as showing them our perspective too. For us, education is so important and we make sure our clients always walk away with the power of knowing how to exactly use their chosen products.

Q
What would you say stands Illamasqua apart from the rest of the industry?

A
We don\’t target a certain \’type\’ of client and truly are for anyone and everyone. You only have to look to our past campaigns which feature every genre, skin tone, race and age. Our products, which I like to call “pieces” because of their luxury nature, are so well made, super colour intense, easy to use and innovative. There is always something fresh and new with Illamasqua and I can\’t wait to see what the future holds.

Q
What would your advice be to anyone who wants to try a more dramatic, experimental look, but is worried about going overboard?

A
I love this kind of client! Experimental doesn’t necessarily mean going to the extremes and sporting green eyebrows! It’s about going out of your comfort zone, for example: “ok so you always wear a nude eye with a brown liner, lets change it up, let’s try navy liner and maybe a light bronze eyeshadow…navy will look great against your eye colour and will make the white of your eyes look whiter and brighter etc…”

However if you wanted to go for green eyebrows, then absolutely go for it! The training we give at Illamasqua is of a very high standard our artist’s will work out which shade and shape is best. We will educate you on colour as well as technique. For these type of more experimental consultations in store, ask for our level 3 or level 4 artists.

Q
We\’re so excited to be launching the Glamore Nude lipstick range in our Glamour Beauty Edit box! What is your best tip to find a nude that suits your skin tone?

A
I am so excited for these lipsticks to launch and I know our Illamasqua Colour creatives and fans are too.

Cool or rosy skin tones: opt for a nude shade that has more of a pink to it versus brown- new Glamore lipsticks in Rosepout or Starkers would be perfect.

Warm or olive skin tones should opt for a nude shade that has more brown versus pink- new Glamore lipsticks in Tease, Naked and Buff would be perfect.

For just a general neutral tone go for more coral, coral is a mixture of pink, orange and brown so new Glamore lipsticks in Cherub or Minx would be perfect.

Q
Okay, so we have the lipstick covered! How would you complete the look to compliment a nude lip?

A
It might be cliché, but a sexy smouldering smokey eye stands the test of time and is always a winner with a nude pout. Try Illamasqua precision gel liner as a base and team with our cult piece the Neutral palette, plus a set of number 14 lashes for extra volume. Bridget Bardot Classic Chic!

Q
Illamasqua products are very versatile. We\’re big fans of your cruelty free synthetic brushes which can be used with cream and powder products. What are your must have multi-use products from the range?

A
It’s so hard for me to pick favourites, however, I do have a few must-have brushes that I couldn\’t live without. My first pick is our Highlighter brush; it’s the most perfect short, soft buffing brush for all your buffing needs. I use it for foundation buffing, powder application, buffing contour, bronzer and of course highlighter. Our blending brush is the Rolls Royce of blending brushes. It blends creams, powders, and even wet eyeshadows like a dream! Smoulder brush – what did we do without it?! It’s quite new to our range, buffs your pencils, creates smouldering eyes and is great for details definition. Last but by no means least, the Smoothing brush is a must have. It smoothes concealer application to perfection, along with blurring out any hard edges on an eye look. I promise you will not look back once you use our brushes.
