Advantech Embeds Cogniteam’s Platform to Provide Unified Cloud Solution to Develop, Deploy and Manage Robots and Fleets
Embedding Cogniteam’s platform for default cloud connectivity allows teams to develop, deploy, and manage devices remotely. “Developers can remotely manage and update their Jetson-powered robots throughout it’s full lifecycle,” said Dr. Yehuda Elmaliah, Co-Founder & CEO of Cogniteam
Tel Aviv, Israel, August 29, 2023– Cogniteam, creators of the cloud robotic platform, announced that their technology will now come embedded in all of Advantech’s AMR-S100 units Combining out of the box cloud-connectivity with NVIDIA’s powerful Jetson chipset, enables teams to work remotely without sacrificing the capabilities needed to have robots complete their assigned tasks.
Robotic development has traditionally been a tedious process, with hardware and software teams developing their projects in tandem. This can lead to a lack of capability or miscommunication regarding desired functionality, holding teams back from moving past early development stages. This inefficiency translates into a costly and time-consuming process, which acts as a barrier for innovation. In response, Cogniteam is addressing these challenges by offering field-proven software components, including NVIDIA JETSON ISAAC SDK GEMs, that can be dragged and dropped into a robot’s virtual simulation environment– streamlining development and cutting resource demands by up to 60%.
Cogniteam’s cloud platform functionality will be pre-installed along with ROS, allowing limited teams to be on par with larger organizations when developing critical features for modern robotics, such as cloud connectivity, spatial awareness, and OTA (Over The Air Updates). “The robotics revolution has been evolving faster and faster around us,” said Dr. Yehuda Elmaliah, Co-Founder & CEO of Cogniteam. “With Cogniteam built-in, developers can remotely manage and update their Jetson-powered robots throughout its full lifecycle. Now that ROS & Cogniteam are side by side, embedded upon a NVIDIA Jetson ONYX Chipset, companies are deploying tomorrow’s robots, today.”
Inclusion in Advantech’s AMR-S100 allows robotics companies who are building their own robots to choose a powerful computer that will function as needed today and can be capable of receiving updates throughout its full lifecycle. “It is important for our AMR-S100 customers that we develop the robot control unit that best meets their needs, including those AMR customers care features such as functional safety, ignition control, and robust quality assurance in the field,” said Pablo Lin, Director of Applied Computing Group, at Advantech. “Without needing to learn new languages, developers can pick through field-proven software packages, ensuring they’ll work before ever creating the first prototype.”
Advantech’s decision to embed Cogniteam within their existing technologies, opening access to the largest cloud-connected hub, allows for robots to remain in the field longer without needing to be called back to a technician for software updates. In the future, Cogniteam intends to include advanced capabilities, such as emerging Human-Robot Interaction tools, that will first be proven within the HRI consortium in which they participate.
