Opening Date & Full Menu for New Palm Breeze Bar at Disneyland Hotel

The brand-new Palm Breeze Bar wasn’t ready in time for the grand opening of the Villas at Disneyland Hotel, but the newest Disney Vacation Club resort will soon get its poolside restaurant and lounge. This post shares the opening date, full menu, and our quick thoughts on Palm Breeze Bar.

According to Disney, the new Palm Breeze Bar will be “serving up tasty eats and sips for all guests staying at The Disneyland Hotel to enjoy” (emphasis added). We directly quote Disney here because there was some question about this.

The new DVC tower is separated from the rest of Disneyland Hotel, with the pool area being gated and requiring a room key to open…unless the gate is propped open, which we’ve seen be the case about half the time. Presumably, this means that room keys for the hotel side of Disneyland Hotel will be able to open that gate. As for those staying elsewhere…you’ll have to get lucky with the gate being open, I’m guessing?

In any case, the Palm Breeze Bar will open on November 2, 2023.

This outdoor venue will feature modern décor inspired by the imaginative artistry of Disney Legend, Mary Blair. As you enter this location, art inspired by some of the classic Walt Disney Animation Studios films and Disneyland itself will be throughout the area, so keep your eyes peeled while you dine at Palm Breeze Bar.

Whether you’re in the mood for a fresh seafood bite like the Coctel de Mariscos, some cheesy-goodness with the Cheese Fry Poutine, the Beignets for a sweet finish (with a Disney twist), or the Strawberry Thyme Fizz for a refreshing sip, Palm Breeze Bar will have something for everyone to enjoy it when it opens, so bring your appetite.

Turning to commentary, honestly, I don’t think many (any?) of you are sitting on pins and needles awaiting our thoughts on a bar outside the parks at Disneyland Resort that may or may not be accessible to you. The percentage of our readership both visiting Disneyland and staying at Disneyland Hotel or willing to gamble on a gate being open is probably like .01%.

Nevertheless, I subject you to my random and useless thoughts about all matters of things, and I’m not about to stop here. I’m really looking forward to Palm Breeze Bar. Like, irrationally excited about it. That was the case before seeing the menu, and is doubly true now. The food options are shockingly deep, and there are several I want to try.

My instant reaction, without trying anything, is that Disneyland Hotel finally has its answer to GCH Craftsman Bar & Grill at the Grand Californian. For those who don’t pay close attention, that’s our #1 restaurant at Disneyland Resort–where we dine more frequently than anywhere else. (Obviously it’s not as good as Napa Rose, Carthay Circle, etc., but the quality and value for money are undeniable.) No offense to Trader Sam’s or Tangaroa Terrace, but they don’t hold a candle to GCH Craftsman in terms of cuisine (except at breakfast–Tangaroa Terrace is actually better then!).

Anyway, I’m not sure when we’ll have a chance to dine at and review Palm Breeze Bar. I know everyone is always saying, “you should really take babies to bars!,” but we’ll probably wait until Megatron is at least 3.5 months old for that. Gotta be slightly age appropriate. We do have a reservation coming up in one of the poolside duo studios at the Villas at Disneyland Hotel, so we’ll probably do it then.

After all, I do need to start training for the Disneyland Half Marathon, and I cannot imagine any better way to do that than by eating a big bowl of Cheese Fry Poutine all by myself. (Just kidding–there’s no way I’m going to train. I’m already reasonably adept at moving my feet back and forth.) So the .01% of you anxiously awaiting our full review…stay tuned!
