Ellemma blogWe love a blog here at LiB HQ and often spend our lunches reading through all of your fab blog posts and feedback on your latest boxes. The LiB gang is constantly growing and that’s down to you lovely lot and our pool of great beauty bloggers sharing the love. It’s so exciting when our favourite bloggers share their must-have Latest in Beauty discoveries so each month we’ve decided to chat to one of our faves right here on the blog. This month we caught up with Emma from Ellemma blog who has been one of our loyal customers for quite some time and always chooses the best LiB stash…

Q
How do you make your blog stand out?

A
It\’s very hard to stand out when you\’re in an industry where thousands of other people are creating either the same or very similar content as yourself, especially on the same topics. Beauty blogging in particular is notoriously difficult to capture the spotlight, but I think the most important thing to focus on is creating good quality content. My blog may look and feel the same as a lot of other bloggers, especially as I use a template from a popular brand, but I try and stand out by writing interesting, honest and useful posts which my readers will (hopefully!) remember when they go to buy a product. I also like to write chatty posts about topical things going on in social media and blogging in particular.

Q
What’s your holy grail beauty product?

A
Benefit\’s Hoola bronzer never fails to impress me – it\’s the perfect matte shade that is perfect for giving a natural and healthy glow. It\’s great for contouring cheeks too.

Q
What’s been your fave Latest in Beauty discovery so far?

A
I\’ve been absolutely loving the little pot of face cream in my latest box. It\’s from a British brand called Evolve and is called Daily Renew Facial Cream. Packed with hyaluronic acid, natural peptides and argan, it\’s got a gorgeous light texture that sinks in quickly and has the most beautiful vanilla and coconut scent – I\’m obsessed!

Q
Makeup hacks, have you got any?

A
I\’m not very good when it comes to make up hacks and tutorials to be honest. I\’ll be the one watching You Tube for the tips rather than offering them out! Always wash your make up brushes and sponges regularly to avoid putting nasty bacteria onto your face – it can make a massive difference to the quality of your skin too.

Q
If you could curate your own beauty box, what would it contain and why?

A
I\’d love to curate a box! I think I\’d opt for a \’Cult Classics\’ collection and basically fill it with old favourites such as L\’Oreal Elnett hairspray, Maybelline Great Lash, Olay Moisturiser, Hoola bronzer, Nars blusher etc..I think there\’s a very good reason why there are cult classics and it would be amazing to get a selection of them all in a box for us to enjoy!

Q
The blogger/YouTuber made me buy it:

A
I remember Zoella raving on about Maybelline\’s Sensational mascara in a couple of her videos and so the next time I was in Superdrug I ended up buying it based on her recommendation. I have to say, I\’ve been really impressed with it and it\’s less than a tenner so a good high-street bargain!

Q
Most overrated product you’ve discovered is…

A
I was really, really disappointed with the Kat Von D \’Studded Kiss\’ lipstick in the shade \’Underage Red\’. For a start I think the name is a little too controversial for a makeup product. Secondly although the shade is a gorgeous blue-toned red, the longevity is awful! I thought it would be similar to her everlasting liquid lipsticks and stay on a good amount of time, but it literally came off so quickly after application. Just a swipe of a tissue, a bite to eat, having a drink; it just didn\’t hold up or stay on half as well as some lipsticks I\’ve bought for a third of the price from Boots.

Q
Blogging highlight?

A
I\’ve been really lucky to have worked with some fantastic brands since I started blogging and have been to some really lovely blogger events. The thing I\’ve most been proud of though was winning a beauty blogger competition to go to L\’Oreal\’s headquarters in London and take part in a photo shoot to promote Garnier\’s new Ultimate Blends haircare range. My photo appeared in all 800 Superdrug stores across the country during the campaign and I still pinch myself when I think about it now!

Q
How do you relax?

A
A hot bubble bath with candles and a glass of prosecco – my idea of a perfect pamper!

Q
Favourite thing about Latest in Beauty is…

A
The thing I\’ve always loved about Latest In Beauty is the amazing selection of products. I like the fact that a lot of them are full size or very generous sample sizes, there\’s a great mix of make up, skin care, hair and body products, and I think it\’s such good value for money when you work out what the cost of the products would be to buy separately compared to the cost of the box. Being a beauty blogger means I\’ve tried a lot of beauty boxes but I\’ve always had a soft spot for Latest in Beauty. The packaging, delivery and customer service is all brilliant too. I couldn\’t recommend them enough.
