To celebrate National Pink Day, which is observed annually on 23 June (and ‘cus pink is one of our fave colours – if ya hadn’t guessed already) we thought it would be fun to put together a beauty edit full of products that rock the colour pink; baby pink, magenta, cerise, you name it – we’ve got it.
Did you know that the colour pink first got its name in the late 17th century from a flower of the same name? Nope, we didn’t either. The colour pink was most commonly associated with femininity, sensitivity, tenderness, and romanticism but we’re a firm believer that it’s the colour that also brings ALL the sass! In the words of Miley Cyrus: “pink isn’t just a colour, it’s an attitude”. Yep, girl, we’re with you on that one and are super excited that National Pink Day is a thanggg.
Whether you love or hate the colour (we’re obviously team love) pink, in this day and age, definitely has powerful connotations; a colour associated with being feminine, strong, confident and fearless. Despite being stereotyped as a ‘girly’ colour, pink doesn’t have to be of the garish kind, pale pastel pinks or blush pink hues are somewhat soothing on the eye and look great when worn by both sexes. In the realms of beauty, pink is often the go-to for many products, similarly to red. Pink is symbolic of spring/summer beauty and you deffo won’t struggle to find it across a number of products – it’s a great shade for your eyes, lips, cheeks and nails and works for every skin tone.
