Food Guide to Halloween 2023 at Disney World

Walt Disney World has released its Halloween 2023 menus of fall-themed snacks, dishes, drinks and desserts available at Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs, and the resort hotels. This food guide offers a full list and photos of the Halloween treats.

This comes over a month after fall food season started at Magic Kingdom, which released its all-day food options and exclusives with the start of the 2023 Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. We won’t rehash those here–see our Full List of Food Guide for Halloween 2023 at Magic Kingdom for the MNSSHP and all-day options.

The full list of Halloween 2023 food also comes about one month after the “early” offerings at Disney Springs and select resort hotels. Personally, I think the ‘rule’ should be that Halloween starts when it starts at Walt Disney World. If they’re going to do MNSSHP during triple-digit weather during August, they should at least have the decency to give us pumpkin treats everywhere. But that’s a problem for Walt Disney World fans who visited in August or September. Those arriving in October will be blessed with better weather and more seasonal snacks!

If our experiences in the past–and the stock photos and descriptions Disney has shared–are any indication, some of these are treats, whereas some are tricks. On the plus side, this list already looks pretty than last year, thanks to a plethora of pumpkin provisions!

With that in mind, here’s a look at the food available in the theme parks, resort hotels, and Disney Springs for Halloween 2023 at Walt Disney World…

Ultimately, a good number of additions and interesting sounding ones that I’m looking forward to trying. The clear winner just judging by the list is the monorail loop resorts, which have a ton of delicious-looking and sounding options. In particular, the Not-So-Poison Apple reminds me a lot of a cupcake from ~5 years ago at Main Street Bakery that was absolutely fantastic…but stained your teeth red thanks to all of the food coloring.

I’m also curious about the Vampire Stitch Cake at the Poly, in large part because the real product when it comes to these cakes is often comical as contrasted with the stock photo. Crescent Lake and Riviera Resorts also have some strong options, including items that were on the previous list.

The best park for Halloween food is Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which has at least a half-dozen promising options. Animal Kingdom is the biggest loser, whereas EPCOT mostly gets a pass since it’s still Food & Wine season (or is it seasons, plural, at this point?). Disney Springs is fine; the time we spend there is down dramatically, though, so I don’t really care as much.

I still wish there were more pumpkin, but it’s not as bad as it was a few years ago. In general, each instance of ‘vanilla’ on the list could be replaced by pumpkin and likely yield better results. There are also several normal items–like the Halloween Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll–that are simply “decorated” for Halloween; how awesome would that be if it were a pumpkin-flavored cinnamon roll?! If Trader Joe’s can do it (quite amazingly, I might add), what’s stopping Walt Disney World?
