Lewis Hamilton, Serena Williams Invest In Consortium To Buy Chelsea FC

Lewis Hamilton and Serena Williams have joined a consortium led by British Airways chairman Sir Martin Broughton to take ownership of Chelsea. Both are ready to inject £10million each into the bid.

Chelsea’s current owner Roman Abramovich is expecting around £2.5bn from the sale of the club. Hamilton, the seven-time Formula One champion, and Williams, who has won 23 Grand Slams titles, are so far the most famous celebrities to get involved in the race. Both have been in constant touch with Sir Martin for the last few weeks.

Lord Sebastian Coe and Crystal Palace co-owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer are also backing Broughton’s bid to take over Chelsea.

Broughton’s consortium will have to compete with Todd Boehly, an American businessman and co-owner of LA Dodgers, and Stephen Pagliuca, part-owner of Atalanta FC and Boston Celtics.

As per reports in Sky Sports, Hamilton is also interested in working in a formal role to promote diversity and inclusivity at the club.

”Sir Lewis was likely to play a formal role in Chelsea’s future efforts to promote diversity, equity and inclusion if the bid is successful,” stated an insider to Sky Sports.

Hamilton, however, is a massive Arsenal fan, and he has the initials of the club engraved on his ring finger. Arsenal fans have come up with some hilarious memes about this development.

One fan wrote: “Arsenal fan Sir Lewis Hamilton about to buy Chelsea and turn them into Arsenal’s 2nd academy? My GOAT”

Some fans didn’t mind Hamilton’s involvement with their arch-rival Chelsea.
