Suniel Shetty Reacts To Kevin Pietersen's Comment On Virat Kohli

A lot was expected from Virat Kohli after he relinquished captaincy ahead of the Indian Premier League 2022. Kohli, however, continues to struggle to get back amongst runs, as he finds different ways to get out.

He started the tournament on a great note, scoring 41 off just 29 deliveries. But in the next seven matches, he has managed just 56 runs, and has got put for golden ducks in each of his last two games.

Against Lucknow Super Giants, Virat Kohli was undone by a back of the length delivery from Dushmantha Chameera. In the next match, Kane Williamson’s masterful planning brought Kohli’s downfall. When the RCB star came out in the middle, Williamson moved a man from the point to the first slip, and deployed Aiden Markram to the second slip.

Kohli, even in the worst phase of his career, doesn’t hesitate in playing expansive drives. Marco Jansen delivered a teasing half-volley away from the off stump, which Kohli edged away to Markram.

In his latest blog for Betway, Kevin Pietersen talked about how a break has helped Jos Buttler, while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been playing all three formats throughout the year.

“Whereas Jos Buttler benefitted from a break during England’s Test series in the West Indies, you’ve had the likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jonny Bairstow playing all formats and living in bubbles for months on end,” Pietersen said.

Pietersen also showed his support for Kohli after the former India skipper registered his second golden duck.

“You want a fact? Every single great of our game has been through what Virat is going through. Want another fact? They all get through it and deliver on the big stage again,” tweeted Pietersen.

Suniel Shetty reacted to Pitersen’s comment: “One legend talking about they other … Respect!”
